America 250 Ornament Hunt Begins June 1st
This summer, the annual East Peoria Festival of Lights tradition returns with a special celebration for America’s 250th birthday! The America 250 Ornament Hunt, inspired by Folepi’s Ornament Hunt, invites residents and visitors to search for a hidden ornament for a chance to win a prize. Each clue is thoughtfully crafted and released to challenge your wits and help you uncover where the ornament is hiding!

The limited-edition ornament hunt begins Monday, June 1, with the release of the first clue. A handcrafted aluminum America 250 ornament, measuring 2.5 by 3 inches, will be placed inside a clear plastic bag and hidden outdoors in a safe location on public property within the East Peoria city limits. New clues will be released weekly at 8am starting June 1, and the hunt will continue until the ornament is found.

The lucky winner will get to keep the limited-edition ornament and win a $250 VISA gift card. The ornament hunt is open to residents throughout Central Illinois. Those participating in the hunt must be respectful of property and park in safe locations that do not block traffic.
