TCHD Set to Host Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event Saturday, March 21st
Need to find a way to get rid of household hazardous wastes like old paint, solvents, pesticides, cleaners, or car fluids? Don’t just toss them in the trash or down the drain and hope they disappear. Through a partnership with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA), Tazewell County Health Department (TCHD) is making it easy to be an environmental superhero this spring! Join TCHD on Saturday, March 21st for a FREE Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection event open to all Illinois residents.
When: Saturday, March 21st from 8am - 3pm
Where: Illinois Central College at 1 College Dr., East Peoria

- Paint thinners
- Herbicides
- Lawn chemicals
- Pesticides

- Household cleaners
- Solvents
- Hobby chemicals
- Fluorescent bulbs
- Old gasoline
- Pool chemicals
Appointments are REQUIRED, but TCHD is making signing up to safely dispose of these materials EASY! All you have to do is head to SignUp.com/go/sTXhTxg and select an appointment. It’s that simple!
HHW events like this one help keep potentially hazardous and dangerous chemicals out of the environment, particularly the groundwater that many people rely on for drinking water.
