New and Notable at Fondulac District Library

February Is American Heart Month
Fondulac District Library partners with the American Heart Association to promote heart health by offering self-monitored blood pressure kits. The Libraries with Heart program provides access to an in-library monitoring kit for visiting patrons to measure blood pressure at the library, as well as a circulating kit for patrons to measure blood pressure at home.

Each kit contains a blood pressure monitor, two cuffs, an adapter, instructions (in English and Spanish) on how to properly take blood pressure readings, a log to record measurements, and handouts about managing blood pressure. The lending period is 7 days. This item must be returned to the Adult Services desk, and a $5 fee will be charged if it is returned to a drop box.

Check Out the Seed Library
How does your garden grow? February and March are prime seed-starting time, so why not visit the Seed Library on the second floor! This collection of various seeds can be freely “borrowed” by community members and then planted. If possible, save seeds from your plants at the end of each season and donate them back to the library. (The library also accepts donations of commercially-packaged seeds.) The donation-based Seed Library creates a self-sustaining collection of seeds that are ideal for our local growing conditions, strengthens biodiversity, and increases resource sharing within our community.

How to Use the Seed Library:

  1. Select seed packets to take home. For 2026, allowed checkouts have been increased from 10 to 15 packets per cardholder, per year.
  2. Fill out the form letting us know what you took & turn it in to the second floor Information Desk.
  3. Plant the seeds in your garden & enjoy!

How to Donate Seeds:

  1. Clean, dry, and save seeds from your heirloom variety vegetables, herbs, and flowers.
  2. Please label your donation or include your name/phone number, the variety of seed, and the year that it was harvested.
  3. Seeds from vegetables, herbs, flowers, and native plants will be accepted.

America 250 Tiny Art Show
Fondulac District Library invites the community to participate in the America 250: What America Means to Me Tiny Art Show, a free art program open to artists of all ages and skill levels. A tiny art show features small-scale artwork created on provided canvases and displayed together in a gallery-style exhibit.

Participants may pick up a Tiny Art Show canvas and supplies at the library from March 1 through March 26. Registration will take place at the time materials are picked up. Artists are encouraged to create a family-friendly piece that reflects what America means to them.

Completed artwork must be returned to the library by March 27. The exhibit will be on display March 30 through April 17 and will be judged by the Fondulac Library Board of Trustees on March 30.

Participation is limited to one canvas per artist. Supplies are limited, and the library reserves the right to limit the number of canvases distributed to any individual or group.

For more information, visit or call the Adult Services Department.
