New and Notable at Fondulac District Library

Keep Reading With Talking Book and Braille Service
Fondulac District Library staff can help you or your loved one connect with the Talking Book and Braille Service (TBBS), the Regional Library liaison to the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (NLS). NLS provides braille books and audiobooks, easy-to-use playback equipment, and digital downloads at no cost to the reader. More than 150,000 digital titles are available, including popular bestsellers, westerns, classics, nonfiction, and magazines. The service is available to any eligible Illinois resident who is unable to read standard print material due to a permanent or temporary visual or physical disability or limitation or perceptual or reading disability, regardless of age. Once an application is received and approved, a TBBS Reader Advisor contacts the reader to discuss their preferences, such as what titles or genres they’d like to receive and how they’d like to receive them. Applications and assistance are available at the library. Learn more at ilbph.org and loc.gov/nls.
