Enough Stuff, East Peoria’s unique non-profit “free store,” is issuing a call to the community as temperatures begin to drop. The organization, which provides donated household goods and clothing at no cost to area families and individuals, is seeking blankets, coats, and cold-weather gear to prepare for the coming winter.

The shop is located at 422 E. Washington Street, Suite 100, near the bottom of Springfield Road where it meets Washington Street. This central location serves as a vital resource, offering a hand up to anyone in need—including families on tight budgets and the area’s unhoused population.

A Critical Need for Warmth
With winter on the horizon, the demand for essential cold-weather items is spiking. “We see so many people who are just trying to make ends meet, and being able to grab a warm blanket or a coat for their child can make a huge difference,” a volunteer stated. “We especially try to ensure our unhoused neighbors have the warm clothing they need to survive the coldest months.”

The organization is specifically requesting:

• Warm Blankets and Comforters
• Coats, Sweaters, and Jackets (all sizes)
• Hats, Gloves, and Scarves
• Men’s Clothing: Often the most requested and hardest to keep in stock.

How to Support Enough Stuff

Enough Stuff accepts gently used, clean household goods, as well as clothing of any size. To prevent overwhelming the volunteer staff, donors are asked to bring in one standard garbage bag or one box full of items per day.

Tuesday: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Wednesday: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Thursday: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
