New and Notable at Fondulac District Library

FOLEPI Night at the Library: Storytime with Santa 
Families and children of all ages are invited to join us at the library on Thursday, December 17, at 6pm, for a special story with Santa. Have your camera ready! Each child will have the opportunity to visit and take a photo with Santa, Folepi the Toy Soldier, the Festival of Lights Queen, and other special guests. Afterwards, stay to enjoy a festive craft and a tasty snack! 

Friends of Fondulac District Library Holiday Bake & Craft Sale
The annual Friends of the Library Bake & Craft Sale is back Friday, December 12, 10am-6pm and Saturday, December 13, 9am – 1pm. The Friends will have an array of affordable homemade sweet and savory treats, holiday-themed crafts, stocking stuffers, and more. These items are perfect to pick-up for friends and family, holiday gatherings, or the office to spread the holiday spirit this season! There will also be a selection of holiday books, audiobooks, CDs, and movies for children and adults available from the Friends’ ongoing book sale. Support the Friends, and support the library!

Study Resources for Finals Week
As fall semester finals approach for East Peoria Central High School and Bradley University, Fondulac District Library has the resources to help students feel confident and prepared. From ACT to career prep, we’ve got you covered!

Need a quiet place to study? The library provides four study rooms as quiet and collaborative spaces for individuals and small groups to utilize. Two adjoining rooms seat up to 6 people each (and can be combined), and two individual rooms seat 2 each comfortably (but can accommodate up to 3 people). Please call the library or see the staff at the second-floor Information Desk to reserve a study room. Rooms are also available on a walk-in basis when not reserved.

The library also offers online research databases that can be accessed from anywhere, 24/7, on your personal device. LearningExpress Library supports those looking to improve academics, pass the GED, prepare for college, explore careers, study for occupational exams, and more. It contains practice tests, tutorials, e-books, articles, and flashcards. Create an account to save your study progress. World Book Advanced contains thousands of informational articles with illustrations, videos, interactive maps, research help, and activities. This powerful reference tool includes full encyclopedic and multimedia databases supplemented with online books, primary sources, website links, Back in Time articles, special reports, and more.
