East Peoria’s VFW
We are proud to celebrate the 94th annual East Peoria Veterans Day Parade located at the levee district. For nearly a century, our community has come together to honor our veterans, and with your support, we can continue this tradition. As members of East Peoria VFW, we are honored to help plan, coordinate, and carry forward the long-standing tradition. We are here to honor the sacrifices of the veterans while inspiring our future generations to remember, respect, and serve.
As part of this year’s parade, four Navy Warbird planes will return for their second airshow—an unforgettable salute to our veterans. They will perform multiple passes in a variety of formations, enhanced by smoke trails to add energy and excitement. As the Navy Warbirds entertain from above, the true heart of the parade is found on the ground. Our participants—veterans, community groups, students, and organizations—bring the tradition to life with their presence.
To help accommodate the parade, East Peoria’s VFW has set a fundraising goal of $6,000. Of this, $5,500 will go directly to the Navy Warbird pilots to cover aircraft maintenance, smoke, and fuel as they travel across the country. The remaining $500 will be used for the purchase of flags and advertising to promote the event.
Our VFW at 1507 Meadow Ave will be hosting two special fundraising events to help us reach our goal of $6,000 for this year’s Veterans Day parade. One of which was held on October 11th. We hope you can also attend our second event on Saturday, October 18th at 2pm: Cornhole tournament with live music. $20 entry fee.
Every dollar raised goes straight into making this year’s parade unforgettable. Come eat, play, and celebrate with us—all while supporting our veterans.
Donations may be made at our East Peoria VFW located at 1507 Meadow Ave. For event details and updates, please visit our Facebook page: East Peoria VFW Post 2078.
