A Birth Story to Remember

The Milestones Program recently had the unique opportunity to provide full-circle support to a birthing mom—bringing together both a doula and a parent educator to create a truly unforgettable experience.
While our incredible doula, Stephanie, offered steady and compassionate support during labor, the parent educator helped keep the atmosphere light and joyful—playing music, encouraging movement, and even dancing alongside the family to lift everyone’s spirits. Soon, the delivery room was filled with laughter, music, and love.
This brave mom originally planned on having an epidural and hoped to avoid the full intensity of childbirth. But when the epidural didn’t take and labor progressed rapidly, she found herself facing an unmedicated birth. Despite the unexpected turn, she remained strong and surrounded by a team that uplifted her every step of the way.
With only two powerful pushes, she welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world, weighing 7 lbs 2 oz.
Here’s what she shared about her support team:
"You guys were miraculous at keeping me calm, making sure I was well taken care of! The laughing, the dancing, being silly—it made my birth experience one I’ll NEVER forget. There for a while, I really thought I was going to laugh him out! The epidural failed me, but you helped me through the intense pain. Two pushes and he was here!”
We are so honored to be part of these life-changing moments.
