Two Peoria-area leaders, Brian Walder, Meteorologist at 25 News, and Seth Colvin, Chef at Suite Fire Bar + Grill, are joining the fight against breast cancer this fall. You will see both wearing pink throughout the month of October to promote awareness and raise funds.

Breast cancer is the leading cancer among women next to skin cancer. Yet, in the last decade, due to improved research, treatment, and advocacy, the death rate among women who have been diagnosed has dropped 44%.

You can join Brian and Seth in the fight by visiting the Men Wear Pink of Greater Illinois website, menwearpink.org/greateril, watching Brian’s “You Gotta Eat” segment on Thursday, September 18 at 6 and 10 pm, and attending Seth’s Suite Night on September 25. He’s created a menu of pink foods and drinks and received silent auction items that include a chance for a martini or whisky night paired with dinner for 8.

Every dollar raised helps the American Cancer Society (ACS) save lives from breast cancer through early detection and prevention, innovative breast cancer research, and patient support. ACS is committed to helping those currently dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis, those who may face a future diagnosis, and those who may avoid a diagnosis altogether thanks to education and prevention. To learn more about ACS and available resources, visit cancer.org.

Brian and Seth are in a position to make a difference in their communities and want to help. Brian has served as a Men Wear Pink ambassador since 2017. Seth has previously served as an ambassador and is returning for the 2025 campaign.
