East Peoria Comprehensive Plan Holds Final Open House
On June 25th, the City held the last of three open houses for East Peoria’s New Comprehensive Plan, which has been a year + process. At the open house, residents were given the opportunity to review and react to a series of proposals from the consultant. These proposals included everything from housing, to transportation, to future land use, and beyond. For the most part, many of the proposals were met with favorable responses. For future land use, our consultant developed a series of maps that looked at existing development in the City as well as what would be desired for future growth just outside of it. A future land use map will be finalized at the completion of this process, and it will be a guide to future development in and around the City for years to come.
Next steps with the New Comprehensive Plan include incorporating the feedback received at this most recent open house, sharing it with our steering committee, along with the ZBA and Planning Commission, and then ultimately before the City Council for their review and final adoption of the plan.
