New and Notable at Fondulac District Library

Yoto Has Arrived at FDL
FDL now offers Yoto Mini audio players and audio cards for checkout! This new collection offers another fun format for kids to enjoy stories and music from the library at home or on-the-go.
Borrow a Yoto Mini and select from the library’s collection of Yoto cards for ages 0-12. If your family already has a Yoto or Yoto Mini player, borrow from the library’s collection of Yoto cards to enjoy new audiobooks. From superheroes and the Beatles to Laurie Berkner and Brainbots, there’s listening fun for everyone.
The library is grateful to the family and friends of Caleb Lee Schwartz. Their donations in celebration of his life have allowed the library to launch this collection for our young patrons to enjoy. Learn more at fondulaclibrary.org.
Read Today’s Newspaper Online for Free with Your FDL card
Skip the paywalls! Fondulac District Library offers cardholders free online access to several newspapers, including Peoria Journal Star, Pekin Daily Times, Chicago Sun-Times, USA Today, and more. While archives can be searched going many years back, cardholders also can easily read today’s paper for free by accessing the digital image edition of the most recent publication.
Through its subscription to Newsbank, the library offers access to more than 2,500 local, regional, and national newspapers. Newsbank is available at fondulaclibrary.org to all Fondulac District Library cardholders with an Internet connection and their library card number. The subscription can also be used by anyone using the library’s public access computers or Wi-Fi connection.
Tax Time at the Library
As tax time looms, Fondulac District Library offers several resources to help patrons navigate the season.
Free tax assistance will be provided again this tax season through volunteers with the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Program. Assistance is provided by appointment only, with in-person and phone registration starting January 15. For more information or to make an appointment, visit or call the library’s Adult Services desk at 309-699-3917. For more information about the Tax-Aide Program, please visit taxaide.aarpfoundation.org or call 888-227-7669.
The library has requested paper tax forms for distribution from state and federal agencies and will make those available when they arrive and while supplies last. Additionally, state and federal tax forms will be available to print at public access computers, and online filing can be completed at the library’s public access computers. This information and more resources for tax season can be found at the library and at fondulaclibrary.org.
