Fon du Lac Park District’s Role in Keeping Seniors Active in the Winter
Did you know that studies show that over 50% of older adults report decreased activity levels when the weather turns cold? The Park District aims to change that by keeping older adults and seniors active while still safe and warm.
With the temperatures dropping, the Fon du Lac Park District is just warming up for our Winter Senior Programs. It may be cold out, but that does not stop our Senior Program Coordinator Jackie from planning fun outings and programs.
Some things in the upcoming Senior Program Guide include a trip to the Ronald Reagan Museum in January and a visit to the Bloomington Performing Arts Center in February. We also have antiquing and thrifting to Bloomington, Galesburg, and the local area on the books. We will, of course, continue to have our regularly scheduled programs like Bingo on Tuesdays, Yahtzee on Thursdays, and our monthly “Out to Eat!” outings. To travel to the fun, exciting, and delicious places we visit, we have both a 14-passenger and a 25-passenger mini coach that transports everyone comfortably. Jackie and our participants create a welcoming environment where everyone belongs. We would love for you to join us!
